Yesterday, the San Antonio Chamber attended the Mayor’s second Housing Policy Task Force, hosted at the San Antonio Central Library. This dynamic team is tasked with the responsibility of building new and improved Housing Policy recommendations and will be creating technical working groups over the next few weeks. The goal is to have formal adjustments and additions to policy by May 2018.
Yesterday’s meeting included a presentation by Veronica R. Soto, Neighborhood & Housing Services Director, who discussed demographics of San Antonio’s key “affordable housing” data that will be paramount to the team’s work. Soto also explained the connection between the task force's charge and the work of SA2020 and SA Tomorrow.
The Mayor’s Housing Policy Task Force meetings are open to the public and are scheduled every two weeks. The next meeting will be held October 30, 2017 at the San Antonio Central Library at 5:30 p.m.
We are anxious to see the progress unfold for us as the working teams advance over the next few months.
